33. AFTER SCHOOL TOPPINGS

Here are a variety of toppings so snacks are never boring.

Before you begin:
Kitchens can be dangerous so make sure you have just read the Kitchen Safety Checklist.
Check with Mum or Dad that you are allowed to cook.
So the food doesn’t get any germs wash your hands with warm soapy water and dry them well.
Read the recipe through before you begin and get out all the equipment and ingredients you will need.
Don’t forget to have fun, and the best cooks ALWAYS clean up their mess.

Makes: 1–2

Here’s what you need:
Toppings:
• Cheesy Tomato
• 1 tomato, diced
• 125g can Edgell Super Sweet Corn, drained
• 1/2 cup grated low fat cheddar cheese
Fruity Nut:
• 1 small banana, diced
• 1 tablespoon light peanut butter
• 2 tablespoons John West Passionfruit in syrup
Corny Tuna:
• 85g John West Tuna Tempters - Oven Dried Tomato & Roasted Onion
• 125g can Edgell Creamed Corn
• 1 small stick celery, diced
• 1 tablespoon low fat mayonnaise
Hey Pesto:
• 1/3 cup spreadable low fat cream cheese
• 4 slices salami, diced
• 1 tablespoon Leggo's Pesto – Sundried Tomato

Here’s how to do it:
Combine ingredients in a small bowl spread onto toasted bread and place under a preheated grill for 1–2 minutes or until topping is warmed through.

Setting Up Time: 10 minutes

HOT TIP: Toppings can be used as fillings for jaffles.

Note: Remaining passionfruit pulp can be placed into ice cube trays and frozen for later use.
