67. WIZARDS AND WITCHES

Before you begin:

Kitchens can be dangerous so make sure you have just read the Kitchen Safety Checklist.
Check with Mum or Dad that you are allowed to cook.
So the food doesn’t get any germs wash your hands with warm soapy water and dry them well.
Read the recipe through before you begin and get out all the equipment and ingredients you will need.
Don’t forget to have fun, and the best cooks ALWAYS clean up their mess.

Here’s what you need:
• Pack of 12 natural ice cream cones
• 1 1/2 cups prepared white icing, see    'Spider' recipe
• Blue and green food colouring
• Candy sprinkles
• 12 snowballs
• 12 jube frogs or critters
• 1 licorice strap, cut into thin strips
• 24 candy coated chocolate buttons
• Blue cake decorating gel

Here’s how to do it:
1. Set aside 1/2 cup prepared icing to be used for decoration and assembly.
2. Add enough drops of both green and blue food colouring to remaining cup of icing until you have a deep aqua colour. Spread icing on outside of each cone. Decorate tops with sprinkles and frogs.
3. Using a piping bag or spoon place a dollop of the reserved white icing on top of each snowball and add thin strips of licorice for hair. Sit a decorated cone for a hat onto snowball. Place a small amount of icing onto each candy button and secure to snowball for eyes. Pipe a zig zag strip for the mouth.

HOT TIP: Coloured candy floss can also be used for the hair.
