SPIDERS
Before you begin:

Kitchens

Check
with Mum or Dad that you are allowed to cook. |

So
the food doesn’t get any germs wash your hands with
warm soapy water and dry them well. |
|
Read
the recipe through before you begin and get out all
the equipment and ingredients you will need. |
|
Dont
forget to have fun, and the best cooks ALWAYS clean up
their mess. |
Heres what
you need:
2 cups self raising flour
1/2 teaspoon mixed spice
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 small carrot peeled and finely grated
Icing:
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1-2 tablespoons milk
30 chocolate coated licorice bullets
30 marshmallows
1 licorice strap cut into strips
Red and blue cake decorating gel
Heres how to do it:

Sift
flour, spice and caster sugar into a large bowl. |

Mix
together, vegetable oil, eggs, milk and carrot, stir
into sifted ingredients; mix well. |

Spoon mixture into greased shallow patty pans and
bake in a preheated oven at 190:C for 12-15 minutes.
When cooked allow to stand in pans for 5 minutes before
turning out onto a wire rack to cool. |

To make icing: In a medium bowl beat together icing
sugar, butter and milk to a creamy consistency. Turn
cooled cakes upside down and spread with icing. Make
spiders with chocolate coated bullet and marshmallow
for body, cut licorice strap into thin strips for
the legs. Pipe red jel dots on body and blue jel for
the eyes. |
