MERMAID BIRTHDAY CAKE
Before you begin:

with Mum or Dad that you are allowed to cook. |

the food doesn’t get any germs wash your hands with
warm soapy water and dry them well. |
|

Read
the recipe through before you begin and get out all
the equipment and ingredients you will need. |

Dont
forget to have fun, and the best cooks ALWAYS clean up
their mess. |
Heres what you need:

packets butter cake mixes (choose chocolate, vanilla
or one of each and 'marble' the mixture). |

50g
melted butter |
|
|

quantity of butter icing (recipe below) |

jelly crystals |

Blue
jelly crystals |
|
|
Approximately
24 mint leaf lollies |

Licorice
straps cut into strips |

raspberry lolly for belly button |

'freckles' for waist |

red and blue candy coated choc buttons for swimsuit |

Coloured
candy sprinkles for swimsuit top |

Butter Icing:
250g butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
essence
500g packet icing
sugar
3 tablespoons milk
Heres how to do it:
Prepare cake mixes following packet directions and pour
into a greased and baking paper lined 27cm x 36cm oblong
baking dish or cake pan. Bake following packet directions.
Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn out on a
wire rack to cool.
