49. DO THE MACARONI

This low fat version of a "cheesy macaroni" is sure to please the fussiest eaters!

Before you begin:
Kitchens can be dangerous so make sure you have just read the Kitchen Safety Checklist.
Check with Mum or Dad that you are allowed to cook.
So the food doesn’t get any germs wash your hands with warm soapy water and dry them well.
Read the recipe through before you begin and get out all the equipment and ingredients you will need.
Don’t forget to have fun, and the best cooks ALWAYS clean up their mess.

Makes: 4

Here’s what you need:
• 2 cups macaroni or short pasta, cooked
• 1 tablespoon cornflour
• 1/2 cup skim milk
• 310g can Edgell Creamed Corn
• 1 cup chopped fresh snow peas
• 6 cherry tomatoes, halved
• 1/2 cup low fat tasty cheese

Here’s how to do it:

1. In a small saucepan blend the cornflour with 2 tablespoons of milk until dissolved. Add remaining milk and stir over a medium heat until thickened. Stir in Edgell Creamed Corn.
2. Drain pasta, add corn mixture, snow peas and tomatoes, stirring well; season with pepper. Spoon mixture into a 1 litre ovenproof dish and sprinkle with cheese.
3. Place under a preheated grill until cheese has melted. Serve with meat, chicken or fish.

Setting Up Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

TIP:
Add 1/2 cup cooked Birds Eye Garden Peas as a substitute for snow peas.
