48. CHERRY FRUIT JELLIES

Cherries set in jelly makes a tasty low fat dessert for kids of all ages.

Before you begin:
Kitchens can be dangerous so make sure you have just read the Kitchen Safety Checklist.
Check with Mum or Dad that you are allowed to cook.
So the food doesn’t get any germs wash your hands with warm soapy water and dry them well.
Read the recipe through before you begin and get out all the equipment and ingredients you will need.
Don’t forget to have fun, and the best cooks ALWAYS clean up their mess.

Makes: 6

Here’s what you need:
• 1 tablespoon caster sugar
• 1 cup hot water
• 425g can John West Stoneless Black Cherries, drained and chopped
• 3 teaspoons powdered gelatine
• 1/2 cup hot water

Here’s how to do it:

1. In a medium bowl combine caster sugar and 1 cup hot water and stir in John West Stoneless Black Cherries.
2. Sprinkle gelatine over 1/2 cup hot water and stir until dissolved. Add to cherry mixture and pour into jelly moulds and refrigerate until set.

Setting Up Time: 10 minutes

HOT TIP: As a healthy party treat make jellies in individual cups & top with fruiche or yoghurt.
